There's nothing quite like the moment you open the kiln. This batch is fresh out — some lovely Nerikomi pieces made by students, glazed and fired and ready to take home.

Make a selection of festive decorations and your own xmas presents while learning one of ceramics' most satisfying techniques — Nerikomi and Marbling, where colour and pattern are built directly into the clay itself. you will make a selection of festive decorations.
In this half-day workshop, you'll blend black and white clays to create striking graphic patterns, then shape them into your choice of a mug, small dish, or tile to take home once fired and glazed. No two pieces ever come out the same, which is kind of the whole point.
All levels welcome.

Start your weekend the right way making your own mug on a Friday morning or afternoon! Using your choice of hand-building technique such as pinch, coiling, or slab building, you'll create a mug that's entirely your own.
Format:
2-week course (with a week's break in between for drying and firing)
Friday mornings: 10:00–12:00
Friday afternoons: 13:00–15:00

In this workshop, you will learn how to create functional hand-built ceramics, using the slab building technique. This afternoon session will focus on jugs and jars, building essential skills and giving you pieces you can both admire, and use. The use of black stoneware clay will result in striking finished pieces.
NOTE: There is a morning session also for Mugs & Dishes making, both are standalone, but we recommend booking both together to make a full day.
Duration: 3 hours
Suitable for: Complete beginners, those looking for a refresher, or novice potters looking to add to their skillset. No experience of working with clay is required.

Learn the fundamentals of creating functional ware using the slab building technique with black clay. By the end of the course, you'll have made a lovely collection of pieces to take home sucha as mugs, dishes and jugs.
